Echo NDE is currently seeking a Division Manager to lead and oversee inspection operations across our projects and client sites.

 

This is a hybrid position, requiring time both in the field and in the office at our Rocky View, AB location. The Division Manager will work closely with our inspection teams and clients to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of inspection services.

 

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in visual API inspection and NDE, with experience in industrial inspection and/or integrity management.

 

This role will be responsible for coordinating field activities, supporting crews, managing resources, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to the overall operational and financial success of Echo NDE.

Responsibilities

  • Support the efficient and profitable delivery of technical services within an assigned geographic or technical service area.
  • Lead the hiring, retention, development, and performance management of qualified technical staff.
  • Establish clear performance objectives, provide coaching and feedback, identify training needs, and participate in annual performance reviews.
  • Schedule manpower and ensure personnel, equipment, fleet, tools, and consumables are available, properly maintained, and effectively utilized.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, policies, procedures, and administrative controls.
  • Prepare pricing and estimates for complex and detailed work packages.
  • Conduct regular site visits to engage with field personnel, monitor project progress, and ensure work remains on schedule and within scope.
  • Oversee administrative functions to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion of required activities.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly financial and billable-time reports and implement adjustments as required.
  • Review and approve operational expenses, DTRs, and expense submissions.
  • Participate in the development of operational and capital budgets.
  • Establish appropriate levels of authority and accountability to support effective decision-making and responsible use of company resources.
  • Manage facilities, vehicles, equipment, and other resources to ensure safe, secure, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and ethical business practices.
  • Engage with existing and prospective clients to expand regional service offerings and identify new business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service value and introduce innovative technologies and solutions to clients.
  • Utilize site-specific metrics and operational data to improve productivity, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Understand client expectations, clearly define scopes of work, monitor project execution, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in NDE, inspection, industrial services, engineering, heavy construction, manufacturing, or a related environment, with demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NDE methods, inspection practices, and applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • NDT technical background with relevant industry certifications; API certifications, particularly API 510, API 570, and/or API 653, are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with operations management, workforce planning, estimating, budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build effective teams and foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to effectively manage challenging operational, customer, and employee situations.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and Company Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures.
