Position Details: Nextgen Tank Inspection is recruiting for 3 experienced Tank Inspectors with API 653 Certification to support projects across Canada.

 

Work Location: Based out of Calgary, AB 4407 116 Ave SE #22, Calgary, AB T2Z 3Z4 with travel required to project sites in:

  • Northern Alberta: Fort McMurray, AB
  • Southern Manitoba: Winnipeg, MB
  • Central Saskatchewan: Regina, SK
  • Northern British Columbia: Prince George, BC
  • Northern Northwest Territories: Yellowknife, NWT
  • Northern Ontario: Thunder Bay, ON

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Fulltime

 

Wage: Hourly wage rate of $40.00 to $60.00 CDN depending on experience and relevant technical qualifications, straight time. Overtime of 1.5X is payable as per applicable provincial employment standards. Additional bonuses and premiums are payable for evening or night. Eligible for wage increases and bonuses at company’s discretion in accordance with company policy.

  • Extended health and dental benefits will be provided after 90 days. 
  • Emergency medical coverage will be provided if required until the 90 days period is met, or a provincial health card is obtained.
  • RRSP and/or contributions are matched up to company plan limits following 6 months of continuous employment.
  • Per diem, accommodations, transportation/flights are provided when working away from the base of operations.
  • Relocation support may be provided with the submission of receipts for successful candidates. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with API standard 653.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Organize and report test results.
  • Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
  • Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client.
  • Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance, on an application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
  • May instruct and supervise trainees.
  • Fully comply with all Nextgen and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in related field.
  • 3+ years of experience performing tank fiekld inspections.
  • API 653 certification.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with MFL Floor Scanner and Total Station Survey experience.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Strong work ethics.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients.
  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness.
  • Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level.
  • Ability to travel for work across Canada.
  • Valid driver's license.
